Grand re-opening!

March 24, 2005

On saturday, the new site will be officially unveiled, as I have been transferring over the content and I feel it is ready for opening.

Website content being added

March 21, 2005

The site has been using the old template as a standby to the transfer of content to the new template. Now that the new one has opened, there is still not a full transfer, but it is updated with the content the old site had and a bit more. I have been improving on the template slightly, too, with a new website structure. Bear in mind that the links section may not fully work, but broken links will be fixed in time.

So Many Calculator Projects

3-2
Almost every active member at http://www.ticalcs.net is working on at least one project. I, bfr, am currently working on Terrestrial Attack for 68k calculators, and Calcman 6 for the TI-86. Pure and I (but mostly Pure from now on) are working on a port of Vuton Titanium OS to the TI-89/Titanium in C. Michael is working on GeoMath Suite and Vladik is working on the complicated but worth it, Mathematica for 68k calculators.

Working Projects and ticalcs.net!

2-13
The new ticalcs.net is thriving now. In the meantime, our two members are the top posters there. We are all working on projects, including a finished html editor plus (requires .NET framework 1.1), and Vuton Titanium OS 4, as well as VutonSuite Beta 1, the next generation suite of programs based on VTOS. Program albums are also expected (see ticalcs.net for more info). Afterwards, Pure will be fnishing 68k programs in C.

PHP Projects

1-13
I've been working some PHP projects as well as updating an old one. Download the latest version of the guestbook thatI updated in the "Web Coding" section. I'm working on a user system that hopefully VDesign will be able to use once it gets it's subdomain at TICALCS (which supports PHP and MySQL of course). I finished making a basic register page, and I'm working on a home page and a login page. I also might make a "Downloads Archieve" that records downloads stats. ...and no, I haven't forgotten about ASP.NET (I haven't forgotten about the closed-source stuff), it's just that the ASP.NET project that I'm working on has been having a problem in updating the database.

html editor plus 2005

12-30
To celebrate the closing of 2005, a (non beta =p) new and improved version of the HTML Editor Plus has been released. Download it if you'd like. It's not half bad though, and is compatible with HTML 4.0.1 Transitional by default, but of course you can modify it if you'd like. Other new features include...well, you'll have to download to find out. Don't forget the gool ol's like VTOS and Calcman 5 (Calcman 6 unfortunately isn't finished) though. Happy coding and happy New Years!

guestbook updated

11-26
The guestbook had a slight bug - it would only validate the email and the the website. The SQL worked, but it was sloppy, and I changed it. So, anyway, the fancy version 1.3 is ready to download at the same place you downloaded the first version.

I'm planning on making the code for a basic user system and/or forum. Expect to see it soon.

guestbook code released

11-15
VDesign's first php code is avalible here. It features an IP tracker, disabled HTML, email and website URL validation, and more! Get it now! Oh, and there also is a minimal for those who want to add their own features.

It is open source of course, and you all are free to modify the code. It would be nice if you all kept the credits though. Except more!

few changes

11-3
The tutorials on the "Getting Started" page will no longer show how to install the software needed to start programming in the languages. Instead, they will only show the basic commands of the language to make the classic "Hello World" snippet, basic variables, etc. Sorry, but it will take too long to do both, and there are enough tutorials about how to install and configure the software for various languages.

new forum created

10-26
The phpBB forum has finally been created!!! Click here. Stuff from the old VDesign forum and the VDesign code index will be moved shortly.

html editor beta released

10-24
The HTML Edtitor Plus beta version 1.0.2 is ready for download. Click here for the zip file, which includes includes the program in many forms, although some of the forms have bugs (it's a BETA version), a readme, and the current vdesign logo for an installer. Changes include the br closing tag removed and the p closing tag added. :)

html editor plus

10-22
Currently, I, bfr, am working on programming an HTML editor. I have already finished a basic version, and an executable version is on its way. Other versions will be in file formats such as .bat, .bak, and .tnk. I also hope to make a Visual C# (.NET) version (.cs) and a Thristle version for Thristle developers (.thw). HTML Editoe Plus 1.0.2 beta version is finished, and the final release should be finished and ready to download soon. In the meanwhile, happy coding!

changing to php

10-13
Right now the staff is testing php codes. It would be great we could find a free host for php that has no banners, pop-ups, and/or very little ads. Our current host is great, except that it has a logo that takes up half of the page =P. If anybody knows any good hosts (that support PHP, mySQL, cgi, and ftp access) please tell us!

site reopens

10-11
I closed the site for a few days to make some changes and clean up the site and make it look more finished. Bfr has made an HTML Editor but it has not been released yet. Also, do not try the poll yet. That feature does not work yet because we do not have a complete PHP file to collect data.
Enjoy!

quick update

10-6
Quick update: A page has been added for all of the old news but has yet to be incorporated into the "NavBar IV", which is what I call the navigation bar now. It used to be Navbar III, and NavBar II, and Navbar.

Updates: The "About" page is finally up and running and I have begun to write the history of Viewers Design all the way back to September 2004! (it's humble origins). Peace, Pure.
